The triangle like shape of this sickle provides several options for how it can be used. To remove stubborn weeds, insert the blade tip as if digging into the soil. To remove weeds over a wide area, hold the blade horizontally and scrape away the weeds. Double edged sickles can also be used for simple tilling, use the tip making a furrow for planting seeds, digging small holes for planting seedlings. An extremely versatile garden tool.

Double edged sickle maintenance

Clean off soil and plant material after use.

Wipe with an oil cloth to prevent rust on the steel parts and prevent the wooden handle from drying out and splitting.

The blade edges can be kept sharp with a whetstone or diamond sharpener.
