The Japanese Yamakichi fine-tooth pruning saw has the ability to produce a very clean, smooth, and precise cut, essential for the healthy recovery of the plant.
The benefit of a fine, clean cut is that it reduces damage and tearing to the plant, allowing the cut to heal more quickly and easily and reducing the risk of disease and pests attacking the plant.
The fine teeth, greater number of teeth per inch (TPI), gives a very smooth and neater finish, often required for ornamental and display trees.
The taper-ground blade design of fine tooth saws reduces cutting resistance and the amount of plant material removed during cutting, allow for greater accuracy and control when cutting.
Fine-tooth saws are well suited for use on dry, hardwood, such as apple or oak, where it might be difficult to start a cut with a coarse tooth saw resulting in ripping and damage around the cut area.
Fine tooth saws are more effective on smaller branches, twigs, and light shrubbery where a coarse tooth saw can rip and break branches rather than cutting though them and speed is less of a concern than the quality of the cut.
More specific uses, fine tooth saws are ideal for cutting bamboo and other wood with fibrous texture.
Light and sharp pistol grip straight blade garden pruning saw comes with a sheath (case) with belt attachment for convenience and to keep the blade safe and secure. The grip is wrapped in a soft elastomer to fit comfortably in your hand, reducing grip strain and fatigue even during extended work. The saw fits securely into the sheath to prevent it from falling out. To remove the saw, push the sheath out with your thumb (see image 4).
