Gardening trowel (hand trowel) made by the well-known Japanese garden tool brand Bonsai. The hand forged and sharpened blade made with Japanese SK-5 hardened carbon steel making this a more versatile tool than your standard garden trowel. These trowels can be used for a wide range of garden uses to plant, dig and weed in tight/small spaces, cut roots, transplant, cut turf, split perennials, lifting plants and potting.

The blades on the unique forged short and long handled garden trowels are crafted from high carbon steel, have a very shallow scoop, hardwood turned handles and are very sharp.
Carbon steel provides a very strong blade (harder than stainless steel) however, they will rust. As with all carbon steel tools, clean and dry after use and wipe clean with an oil cloth.
Keep the blade edge sharp, don’t wait until it becomes dull and blunt. Run over the blade regularly with a sharpening stone (fine) or file.
